Riding Disruption is a concept from Joe Coberly, former Senior IT Strategist for the state of Georgia

Joe Coberly - Founder, Riding Disruption

Sixteen years ago the state of Georgia had just fired its CIO

Georgia needed a new way to create and execute strategies that leveraged a rapidly changing technology landscape. GTA called on Joe Coberly to create a methodology for integrating expert knowledge on technology evolution with an easy protocol for understanding agency and department needs. Flash forward to 2021 and Georgia has been at the top of US states on e-Republic’s Digital States Survey for the past six years. They have a solid process for aligning actions to vision and the tools needed to respond quickly in disruptive times.

Joe has now founded Riding Disruption

An approach to creating organizational muscle memory that enables a proactive strategic response during times of revolutionary change. The site includes an evolving formal approach to folding disruption resistance into the strategic plan. Adopted properly it will reduce the impact of unexpected change and make strategic innovation easier. We want all organizations, but especially the public sector and non-profits to have what they need to think, plan and act strategically in the face of dramatic, unexpected change.
